Khaled currently holds the position of CEO & Co-Founder of Accelero Capital, a TMT-focused investment management group, bringing with him a wealth of experience in both telecom and IT coupled with strong management and entrepreneurial expertise.
Prior to Accelero Capital, Khaled served as Group President & COO of VimpelCom, Group Executive Chairman of Orascom Telecom Holdings (OTH), and Chairman of Wind Italy.
Khaled joined Wind Italy in 2005, heading the Fixed Line and Portal Business Unit before being promoted to COO of the company. He played a key role in restructuring the company’s organization, resulting in the successful turnaround of Wind from a continuously loss making company to a leading mobile, fixed line and broadband integrated operator in Europe within a 3-year time span. As COO of Wind Italy, Khaled played a pivotal role in the merger of VimpelCom with Wind Telecom for a total consideration of $25.7bn to create the world’s 5th largest mobile telecom carrier. Khaled ran 10 operations across the globe through OTH and Wind Italy and 22 operations across the globe through VimpelCom.
Before joining Wind Italy, Khaled was the Co-Founder, Chairman, and CEO of LINKdotNET, one of the largest private Internet service providers in the Middle East. In 2001, following successful negotiations, Microsoft chose to partner with LDN to launch MSN Arabia, the Middle East’s first global Internet portal, bringing the full Internet experience of MSN to users in the region.
Khaled currently serves as a Board Member of various telecom and IT companies, including Orascom TMT; SUPERNAP International, the developer of the world-renowned SUPERNAP data centers; Joyent, a global provider of cloud computing software and services; Orange Egypt, the Egyptian mobile telecom subsidiary of France Telecom-Orange; DADA, an international leader in professional online services; and ItaliaOnline, the leading Internet platform and email service in Italy. He is also a Board Member of Orascom Construction, a company listed on NASDAQ Dubai and the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
Khaled was previously a member of the GSMA board. Khaled is also a member of the Advisory Board for the Computer Science and Engineering Department of the American University in Cairo.
